Macintosh 68000 Development System 1.0
Copyright © 1984 Apple Computer, Inc. This title contains two copy-protected 3½" 400K media disks and a serial cable. This package contains the following manuals still in their original shrinkwrap: - Developer's Handbook, part no. 030-1084-A - Macintosh 68000 Development System User's Manual, part no. 030-1077-A - M68000 16/32-Bit Microprocessor Programmer's Reference Manual Fourth Edition (by Motorola), ISBN 0-13-566795-X This is Apple's first version of assembly programming language for Motorola 68000 systems. An extremely rare first version, it includes a manual by Motorola that is nearly impossible to find still in its original shrinkwrap. All three manuals are in mint condition with no defects whatsoever. Both 400K media are still readable and this can still be installed on classic Macintosh systems. A very valuable and historic item, it is worthy of museum display. This software title was donated to Dan's 20th Century Abandonware by Stephen H. from Virginia, USA. Thank you, Stephen! Extra! Rare supplemental manual for Macintosh 68000 Development System. I have also acquired an extremely rare copy of the 7/29/84 Macintosh Software Supplement to the Macintosh 68000 Development System. This manual supplement was released to software developers before the release of the Macintosh 68000 Development System software. The supplement was released as non-bound 8½"x11" pages in a 3-ring binder. Take a look! |

Microsoft Windows 2.0 Presentation Manager
Copyright © 1987 Microsoft Corporation "Integrate the new generation of Windows applications and existing DOS applications with Microsoft Windows. It's the one graphical environment that gives you a standard path to OS/2, the operating system of the future." -- Quote from back of package Windows 2.0 is very hard to find these days. Especially on its original media. Even more so in a full box set. And much more rare still in a full box set still in its original shrinkwrap. I acquired this rare software "artifact" by doing some consulting work for retrosoftware.net in 2004. They were kind to "pay" me by sending some of their "retro" software as "payment." This title was a part of that "payment." Thank you, retrosoftware! |

Microsoft Word Network Version 4.0
Copyright © 1987 Microsoft Corporation In addition to their standalone DOS versions of Microsoft Word, Microsoft released network server-based versions of their word processor software. This rare network version of Microsoft Word is a complete box set still in its original shrinkwrap and in excellent condition. This box set has two promotion stickers promoting a US$995 savings on the purchase of a bundle set of network versions of Microsoft Word and ForComment, a "review processor" for making comments and revision suggestions on word processor documents. Dan's 20th Century Abandonware just happens to have a full box set of the first version of ForComment that supports Microsoft Word for DOS, ForComment 1.16 (image 6). This version of ForComment has a sticker on the outside box cover sleeve that says, "NOW SUPPORTS MICROSOFT WORD." Microsoft Word Network Version 4.0 was donated to Dan's 20th Century Abandonware by Stephen H. from Virginia, USA. Thank you, Stephen! |

Footprint Works 1.00 for OS/2
Copyright © 1993 Footprint Software, Inc. A rare integrated word processor/spreadsheet/database/charting/report writing suite, this is the first version of Footprint Works released by Footprint Software, Inc. I was fortunate to find a full box set of this title. While the floppy labels appear to be worn, I purchased this package originally still in its factory shrinkwrap. The floppy disks have only been read once -- to make disk images for archiving. The program was tested by writing the disk images to a backup set of floppies. What looks like wear on the labels (image 4) is actually the decal glue soaking through the layers of the disk label. Footprint Software, Inc. is also the same software company that developed the IBM Works integrated suite which was included in the Bonus Pack of OS/2 Warp. |
