Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack setup program

Microsoft Bob was originally released as a 1.00 version. Microsoft also created a "Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack" add-on upgrade which added new "Personal Guides," Bob Home views, and clipart. This add-on upgraded Microsoft Bob to version 1.0a and was sold as a separate product.

Microsoft Bob 1.00 must be running and a user or Guest must be signed in for the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack setup program to run properly.

With Disk 1 of the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack in drive A: or B:, click the "Other options" button.

Click the "Add something" button.

The top four options add Microsoft Bob items to areas in the "Bob Home." Click "Something new from a disk" to open Microsoft Bob's drives dialog.

Click on the checkbox next to drive A: or B:, whichever drive contains Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack Disk 1.

After checking the checkbox of the drive the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack Disk 1 is in, click Continue.

A confirmation dialog is displayed to verify you do want to run the setup program. Clicking "Begin" causes Microsoft Bob to automatically start a setup or install program on the selected drive if one is found.

The Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack setup program displays this opening dialog while the setup program is loaded into memory.

The setup dialog displays a message suggesting the closing of all running programs before proceeding. It also displays a copyright notice.

This dialog displays the name that was used to install Microsoft Bob 1.00. This name can be changed for the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack installation.

After entering your name, a confirmation dialog is displayed to make sure this is the name you want.

The next dialog displays the Product ID for the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack for registration and technical support records.

The setup program searches for components necessary to install the Microsoft Bob 1.0 Plus Pack.

As the setup program runs, colorful "billboards" describe the new items being added to Microsoft Bob 1.00. The first one mentions the new Bob Home styles.

The next "billboard" tells of the five new "Personal Guides" added to Microsoft Bob 1.00, raising the total number of guides from 12 to 17.

At 36% into the installation, the setup program prompts you to insert the second disk, a 3½" 1.68MB DMF format floppy.

The third and final ad "billboard" mentions the additional clipart that is added to Microsoft Bob 1.00.

Finally, when all files are copied and settings are made, Windows must be restarted to allow the upgrade changes to take place.
